Broad Description of Duties:

The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Marketing Director to improve overall site marketing performance by establishing plans, training, communicating expectations and following up with theatre sites. This position provides regular reports, summarizing field efforts and measurable analytical results to show how efforts are translating to success and reaching campaign goals.

In addition, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing and supporting corporate marketing efforts including developing weekly and monthly strategies to reach attendance goals, designing campaign materials with the creative department and serving in a key role for assigned special projects.

Success in the position will be identified by three factors:
• Site Guerilla Marketing and Local Campaign Creation/Evolution
o Improving upon current guerilla/grassroots marketing efforts by creating strong program/processes and providing clear expectations to field teams
o Seeking new opportunities for local use of marketing funds
o Forming advantageous partnerships with local groups
• Site Adaptation
o Ensuring field compliance and participation
• Program and Performance Effectiveness
o Impacting positive growth in site attendance and net operating income

Essential Functions/Job Duties:

• Develops Local Guerilla Marketing Programs
o Travels to assigned theatres/regions 1-2 times per month, holding accountable for required tasks and providing progress reports to the operations and marketing teams
o Trains sites to implement corporate marketing initiatives including:
 Grassroots marketing
 POP implementation
 Associate sales techniques
o Maintains motivation for field managers by creating incentives and contests as approved by Marketing Director
o Monitors competition’s activities and prepares regular reports
• Reviews Opportunities/Develops and Plans Local Media
o Evaluates local paid media opportunities. Provides thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate based on theatre budgets
o Develops partnership proposals and reports on activity
o Works with sites to select, plan and execute events
o Directs vendor partners to produce approved materials, providing distribution lists and other appropriate direction
o Continuously improves by capturing and analyzing the appropriate data/metrics, insights and best practices, and reporting recommendations to the Marketing Director for action

• Creates materials and is responsible directing and managing the distribution of content for in-theatre channels and ads sent to external media outlets
• Directs creative department to create graphic content for local initiatives
• Assists Marketing Director with large-scale campaigns from inception to launch, managing all aspects of strategy development, content creation and vehicle implementation

• Serves as social media backup, posting, monitoring and performing other duties as needed
• Supports other advertising and marketing needs as requested by Marketing Director

Job Requirements:
• Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
• Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Understanding of the local site tools to support marketing communications and guerilla marketing efforts including social media (Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube), event marketing, sponsorships and traditional media
• Positive attitude, detail and customer service orientation with good multitasking and organizational ability
• Strong project management skills and ability to work in team
• Comfortable with confrontation and establishing accountability protocol
• Ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
• Works in an office environment and in the field as needed
• Regional travel to sites required on a regular basis, including out-of-state travel
• Non-traditional work hours required as necessary

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Related Field

Experience Required:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in a marketing capacity
• Previous track record of coaching and establishing accountability requirements in a traditional field setting or franchise environment
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and shape/lead growth vision and marketing strategies
• Proven working experience in marketing, communications or related field using traditional, digital, and social media marketing vehicles
• History of first-rate presentation and marketing plan development to communicate strategic goals and local marketing tactics to drive success
• Experience in planning media strategies and engaging in placement negotiations with outside vendors and agencies
