Bon Appétit at Google is hiring a Digital Marketing Strategist to join the MCE team. This person will report directly to the Global Director of Marketing, Communication and Engagement. The ideal candidate is accountable, a team player and comes to work every day with a positive, go-getter attitude. She/He must also identify as a problem-solver and self-starter. This individual should be a highly creative, tech-savvy trendsetter with innovative ideas to engage with users digitally and improve the user cross-platform experience.

The Digital Marketing Strategist will work collaboratively with team members to create and deliver the strategy, planning and execution of our clients' online/offline initiatives including content creation, social, video, mobile, storytelling, etc. to achieve our client's goals. You will identify key opportunities to distribute content while further supporting those efforts by translating the article itself into snackable, compelling copy. Thinking big picture, you will map out deployment strategy across our client's existing (and new) channels and dream up amazing audience building opportunities with a scrappy, test-and-learn approach to build trust and transparency with the user base.


  • Develop and communicate digital strategy and future roadmaps using all necessary tools (e.g. website, emails, social media and blogs)

  • Define global digital architecture detailing what sites and social assets the brand will maintain globally in various versions and languages

  • Conduct web asset audits to map the brand's digital presence and assess the effectiveness of each asset

  • Collaborate with both creative and editorial stakeholders to identify where opportunities for digital media exist and support the implementation and management of our digital strategies

  • Facilitate workshops and creative brainstorms with internal teams to identify digital opportunities related to business objectives

  • Build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar that drives audiences to our properties (including blog posts, sites, infographics, etc.)

  • Repurpose existing editorial content for creative assets, turning them into great reader experiences that are able to be deployed across various platforms at a consistent cadence

  • Analyze metrics and data to make recommendations that will increase client ROI

  • Generate actionable recommendations through an iterative, test-and-learn approach

  • Research products, services and current strategies to identify new opportunities; Experiment with new content formats and platforms

  • Keep up-to-date with our audience's preferences and proactively suggest new campaigns

  • Effectively collaborate and maintain strong relationships with teams across the business (Regional Food Service Managers, the client leadership team, partner leadership team, MCE team locally and globally)

  • Create, define and oversee multiple creative projects and additional duties on competing timelines and in a fast-paced environment

  • Manage relationships and long/short-term projects with external creative agencies

  • React quickly to client feedback and proactively make adjustments to projects when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing , Business, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent work experience

  • 3-5 years of work experience as a digital marketing strategist or digital marketing manager (experience with global markets a plus)

  • Basic knowledge of website design, html, search and social marketing, URL architecting and email marketing

  • Exceptional spelling, grammar and punctuation skills; strong attention to detail

  • Versed in emerging creative digital content technologies, platforms and best practices

  • Experience interacting directly with client stakeholders

  • Self-starter who can work well both independently and across multi-level stakeholder groups

  • Strategic thinker and strong project management skills with a proven track record of seeing projects through from concept to post-mortem

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment

  • Agency experience preferred, with clear understanding of relationship-building with client organization

  • Interest in food, commerce, culture, and new advertising trends and techniques
