Marketing Manager
THIS POSITION SUPERVISES THE FOLLOWING STAFF: Database & Technology Administrator, A/V Marketing Associate, Poster Distributor, various contracted workers
BIMA is seeking a Marketing Manager to support all aspects of the Museum’s marketing activities including website maintenance and content, social media, media relations, special events, and executing marketing and advertising campaigns for exhibitions, programs, events, rentals, the BIMA Bistro, and Museum Store.
The right candidate is energetic, deadline-driven, culturally savvy, and possesses a strong work ethic and great sense of humor. Must be an excellent writer across a wide variety of styles, comfortable dealing with all types of people, and knowledgeable in social media, email marketing, and web platforms. Experience with Salesforce, other CRM databases, and platform automations is a bonus. Help us tell our story!

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Museum’s management team, the Marketing Manager works across multiple departments to ensure BIMA’s constituents and the community and beyond knows what is happening at BIMA and can find information efficiently. The Marketing Manager:
- Manages the day-to-day of all marketing channels including website, social media, email, print, publications, and BIMA calendars
- Oversees BIMA’s content calendar and plans with supervisor and various departments to achieve the optimal reach
- Manages BIMA’s email campaigns including crafting messages, obtaining approvals and maintaining subscriptions lists
- Proofreads and fact-checks outgoing marketing materials, ads, brochures, etc.
- Supports exhibitions, programs, and events by:
- o Project management of the trimesterly programming cycle
- o Website, social media, and email social media marketing
- o Ticketing support
- Oversees the production and publication schedule of BIMA’s video content including working with the curatorial department, artists, and BIMA’s videographer to create compelling storytelling and assures access to diverse audiences
- Co-develops BIMA’s advertising plan and works with sales reps to assure BIMA continues to reach its fans while actively pursuing new audiences
- Works with supervisor to develop BIMA’s annual marketing plan and budget
- Partners with BIMA’s Visitor Services department to ensure a consistent visitor experience that starts before a guest ever enters the building and continues well beyond their visit
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a variety of formats
- Demonstrate excellent skills in communicating with a diverse group of people
- Must be able to see the big picture and think strategically while also performing hands-on management responsibilities
- Experience assisting senior staff members and supporting various departments
- Experience supporting marketing and public relations strategies
- Social Media and web CMS platforms (Wordpress/Squarespace)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, & Photoshop)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Ability to learn additional software programs as needed.

- Availability to work major BIMA events as needed, especially the annual Auction, member parties, and occasional offsite tabling events
- Full vaccination for COVID-19

Compensation: $52,750 per year. Other benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, generous paid time off policy and 403(b) retirement program.
