Job Description

The Product Marketing Manager leads the strategy, planning, creative development and execution of complex and/or larger scale marketing programs and tactics to drive profitable growth and retention for Allstate. The manager is required to demonstrate ability and flexibility in developing plans and leading through uncertainty and change, as well as expertise in analyzing business data and trends and research/measurement inputs and translating them into marketing recommendations. The Manager serves as a subject matter expert for the business(es) he/she supports and effectively directs cross-functional teams, directs staff/external agency partners, and influences business partners and strategies. The Manager judges and copy edits creative executions and provides constructive and clear direction and feedback to both internal and external partners. This position effectively manages a small team and prioritizes their workload to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, creative development and implementation of integrated marketing communications to support Home, Renters, condo and Ivantage/flood programs and strategies, offering solutions and recommendations to marketing leadership and business partners.
  • Demonstrate expertise for development and implementation of complex integrated marketing communication programs, including analyzing research/data inputs, developing marketing strategy and marketing communication plan, and determining and allocating resources required. Lead and oversee all elements through completion, measurement and post program analysis.
  • Accountable for program budgets; manage and/or lead others in managing program budgets and provide monthly and quarterly budget forecasts to internal finance team
  • Develop presentations, program overviews, recaps, and other materials for internal meetings and presentations; present work internally to marketing leadership and other business partners; accountable for program plans and results
  • Integrate across marketing teams and other departments, building relationships with internal and external business partners and resources
  • Direct, influence, negotiate and persuade team members to support business goals and initiatives
  • Initiate new innovations/ideas/processes and manage actions
  • Create a high performance environment; manages, develops and directs staff, interns and marketing/advertising agency partners

Job Qualifications

  • Advanced organization and project/program/time management skills
  • Advanced presentation development and delivery skills
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft suite, including PowerPoint
  • Advanced relationship, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Advanced strategic and analytical skills
  • Intermediate financial acumen
  • Advanced solutions skills; flexible in times of change
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal; excellent ability to write, copyedit and judge creative
  • 7-10+ years of Marketing experience, preferably including Advertising/Marketing Agency experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required: Marketing, Journalism or Communications concentration preferred
  • MBA/Master of Communications or related field preferred
  • Must be highly motivated, a passionate team player and provide a track record of successfully motivating teams
  • Insurance industry knowledge a plus
