Merchandising Manager

The role of Merchandising Manager is responsible for the management, development and creation of compelling product solutions for Seasonal, Incremental, On-Field, SMU, GCP and Stock programs, among others. This position executes the strategies set forth by the Merchandising Sr. Manager and has an in-depth knowledge of our accounts, consumers and competition. 

* In-depth knowledge of New Era account and consumer types. 
* Manage Merchandising processes and communications.
* Lead the departmental ownership of product reviews and line adoptions with marketplace insights, historical data and creative opinions in order to provide optimal product assortment.
* Use analytics to support development of product lines in relation to style productivity, SKU efficiency, etc.
* Own the Merchandising communication between Category, Sales and external accounts.
* Contribute to product line planning for variety of product collection types. 
* Develop and recommend new product concepts, colors, styles, silhouettes, etc.
* Work cross functionally with Design, Sourcing, and sales for product development cost, price and margin based on product and marketplace 
* Maintain and manage go-to-market calendars.
* Consistently innovate within the department to drive clearer, more efficient results in all areas.
* Recommend improvements to processes and procedures that result in meeting/exceeding corporate goals.
* Work to execute product strategies in-store and online with Marketing, Visual Merchandising, and Ecomm 
* Lead Client Facing meetings to present lines and support sales in line adoption

* Deep understanding of market and consumer and is capable of transforming those insights into action.
* Applies knowledge and skill in product development process.
* Leads collaboration with cross functional teams
* Exhibits attention to detail and accuracy, as well as very strong organizational skills.
* Pro-actively manages change with urgency and persistence.
* Demonstrates leadership ability through clear communication.
* Ability to speak accurately, intelligently and persuasively to external customers.

* Bachelor's degree in Merchandising Planning, Business or related field required
* Minimum of 5-7 years Merchandising experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Knowledge of sportswear or apparel industry.  

* 20-30% national travel
