Position Summary

Under general/limited supervision, this position designs and creates graphics to meet specific client needs.  Uses variety of tools and mediums to achieve artistic or decorative effects.  Plans, analyzes, and creates visual solutions for communications.  Provides direct support to the College Relations Department.  Primary responsibilities will be to provide graphic design expertise in the internal and external communication tools.  Designs and produces brochures and other publications for internal and external audiences to promote the goals and services of LSC-Montgomery.

Job Functions

  1. Develops marketing, publicity, enrollment, and recruitment material for internal and external communication.

  2. Plans, designs, and produces publications directed toward student recruitment, employee information, and college policies, services and activities including graphic, illustration, and project coordination.

  3. Uses multiple tools and methods to create options for client selection,  including color, type, illustration, photography, animation, and various print and layout techniques.

  4. Develops materials for web pages, interactive media, and multimedia projects.

  5. Manipulates and optimizes images and graphics.

  6. Constructs and utilizes database for photos and created promotional material.

  7. Designs graphics, catalogs, and makes available to content editors.

  8. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in related field with at least 1 year of related experience; will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Working knowledge and use of Adobe Creative Suite.  In particular, InDesign and Illustrator.

Preferred Qualifications

  •   Knowledge of digital photography.

  • Working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Must be detail-oriented, team player, and technologically savvy.

  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Publisher.

  • Familiarity with the Lone Star College System.

Salary

$15.07 an hour (not to exceed 19.5 hours a week).

Work Schedule & Conditions

Work is performed in air-conditioned office environment.  Travel to campuses (5) within district may be required.
